Summary
Description
Editors of Leading Religious Newspapers. Six historical portraits from The Phrenological Journal and Life Illustrated, vol. 56 (old series), no. 5, whole no. 413, May 1873, printed p. 301. Top row: J. Cotton Smith, H. W. Bellows and A. S. Patton. Bottom row: W. J. R. Taylor, Isaac T. Hecker and Daniel Curry. The artist and engraver have not been established.
The portraits, ornamental frames and printed names match the upper group in H. P. Blavatsky's Scrapbooks, volume 3, page 35, item 1. The scrapbook places the group from p. 301 above that from p. 300. This file follows that album order; it is not a reconstruction of the scrapbook collage. This witness does not establish the first-ever appearance of the portraits or identify the particular physical copy used for the scrapbook.

File and processing
PNG, 2620 × 2880 pixels, RGB. A faithful crop of the complete six-portrait panel, including the ornamental frames and all printed names. The original camera file was oriented 90 degrees clockwise exact transpose, then cropped in upright coordinates (280, 1060)–(2960, 4000), aligned 1.175630 degrees counterclockwise with one bicubic resampling, and trimmed to (30, 30)–(2650, 2910). Right and bottom bounds are exclusive. A source-area mask confirms that all output pixels lie within the source image. The resulting caption baseline is level within 0.02 degrees. The source colour profile is retained if present; no colour conversion is applied.
Natural paper colour, marks and show-through are retained. No enlargement, colour or tonal correction, sharpening, retouching or reconstruction was applied. The page header and adjacent prose are excluded and remain available on the complete source page.
