Rights
The historical engraving was published in 1875 and is public domain in the United States by age; its published-work term has expired under 17 U.S.C. sections 304-305. Foreign-work restoration would provide only the remainder of the original U.S. term under section 104A(a)(1)(B). A faithful scan of the two-dimensional printed engraving adds no original authorship: U.S. Copyright Office Compendium, section 313.4(A). This is a statutory U.S. public-domain basis, not an item-specific institutional permission or Creative Commons licence. No CC0, Public Domain Mark or worldwide public-domain claim is made.
