Description

Album, decorative title leaf matching H. P. Blavatsky's Scrapbooks, volume 6, page 55, item 1. The decorated capital A with vine panels, letter shapes, passionflower vine and tendrils, butterfly, right-hand flourishes and printed imprint correspond to the album. The NYPL impression is brown; the album impression is magenta. This is a matching design in a different colour impression, not the same physical exemplar. No colour alteration was applied to make them agree. The designer is not established.

The printed imprint reads LONDON: MARCUS WARD & CO., And ROYAL ULSTER WORKS, BELFAST. No year is printed on this leaf. The NYPL catalogue's 1876–1890, approximate range is catalogue dating, not a physically printed year or a demonstrated first-publication date. The collection's L. Prang heading does not establish that Prang published this specific sheet; the physical Marcus Ward imprint is retained.

Lossless RGB PNG, 2877 × 4000 pixels (11508000 pixels, within the wiki's PNG thumbnail limit). The original full-sheet JPEG is available unchanged at 4255 × 5917 pixels.

One fine 0.395037° clockwise BICUBIC rotation on the full native source canvas without expansion, measured from the median of three printed-imprint baseline fits. Crop (236, 302)–(4074, 5639), right/bottom exclusive, encloses the transformed original subject rectangle (260, 320)–(4050, 5620), producing a 3838 × 5337 native-size aligned crop. All torn paper edges, complete design, butterfly, tendrils, imprint, stains and print irregularities remain; only surrounding mounting-board margins/label are excluded. Support-mask minimum 255, no exterior fill wedges. A single proportional LANCZOS reduction of that crop produces this display file. Final decoded geometry and reduction were independently reproduced.

No enlargement, tonal adjustment, colourization, sharpening, retouching or reconstruction. Natural paper colour and brown ink are preserved.
