Summary
Description
Adonais: couple under a tree (lower vignette), matching H. P. Blavatsky's Scrapbooks, volume 7, page 291, item 3. The seated pair and their hats, tree trunk and branches, circular foliage scene, foreground grass and apples and fine strokes match. This is a descriptive label for this detail, not a separately printed historical title. The poem is printed as ADONAIS; no separate artist or engraver credit is independently established here. The exact engraved design is confirmed; the physical copy used for the album cutting is not identified.
From Harper's New Monthly Magazine, vol. LVII, no. 341, October 1878, p. 652 (New York: Harper & Brothers), one of five scrapbook image details taken from the two illustrated poem pages, pp. 652–653. The decorative branches and borders connect across parts of the source page. This crop corresponds to one existing album image, retaining its scene or panel and adjacent original ornament where present; it is not presented as the entire two-page design. The unchanged complete pages remain available at the links below. No connecting ornament has been reconstructed or replaced with artificial paper.
The physical issue opening prints No. CCCXLI, October 1878 and Vol. LVII; the bound title page prints June to November 1878. The exact leaf/page mapping identifies original camera exposure 668 as p. 652. This impression's date does not establish when the scrapbook leaf was assembled.
