Summary
Description
A Visit to the Dentist — engraving in Harper's Weekly, vol. XXII, no. 1127, Supplement, 3 August 1878, printed p. 621. The printed caption credits “From the Picture by G. A. Storey, A.R.A.” This is the painting credit; the small engraved signature is retained without an unverified expansion or a separate engraver attribution.
The right-hand standing man matches the cutting at H. P. Blavatsky's Scrapbooks, volume 7, page 297: profile, queue hairstyle, hands held at the chest, lace-edged hat behind the elbow, coat folds/buttons, breeches, stockings and buckled shoes, and the background doorway. The album contains a narrow crop; this file shows the complete scene with both women and the original caption. It is not a portrait identification or a claim that the man is Scrooge. This witness establishes the matching printed matrix; the exact physical copy used for the cutting and the earliest-ever publication are not established.

Rights
The underlying engraving was published in the United States in 1878 and is public domain there by age. The Internet Archive record currently displays Public Domain Mark 1.0; this is reported as archive metadata, not asserted as an independent institutional licence issued by Pennsylvania State University or Google. No CC0 or Creative Commons licence is invented for this digital representation. This is a faithful processed scan of the old printed page, not a modern creative photograph or restoration. The current Google Books terms preserve uses permitted by the United States Copyright Act and require watermarks/labels to remain; the printed Google watermark is included without removal. No paid content, access restriction or commercial seller's photograph is used.

These are the archive's processed access pixels, not a camera original. The complete PDF's two-layer page also uses a 1695 × 2500 foreground; no larger independent detail is claimed from upscaling a render.

All three figures, furniture, background, engraved signature, original caption and the full lower-right Digitized by Google mark remain. Source-support mask minimum 255 and exact independent pixel replay checked. No enlargement, tonal/colour changes, sharpening, retouching, reconstruction or generative processing.
