Summary

Description

Sir Roderick Murchison. Exact engraved portrait corresponding to H. P. Blavatsky's Scrapbooks, volume 9, page 75, item 1. The complete portrait and ornamental frame, where present, are retained. This source prints no individual caption under the frame; the page heading identifies Sir Roderick Murchison. The individual designer or engraver is not assigned without further evidence.

The Phrenological Journal and Life Illustrated, volume 58, no. 1 (whole no. 421), January 1874, printed p. 57. This confirms an exact primary printing, without asserting the first-ever appearance or identifying the physical copy used for the album cutting.

PNG, 619 × 681 pixels, RGB. Natural paper colour retained. Source PDF: 103778599 bytes, SHA-256 9f0096797f5a3db8348136776f7c3f78f0aea10e1ba4995c4906ffefc0202486. One-based PDF page 57.

Faithful full-page PDF composite rendered at 150 dpi, matching the embedded image layers' approximate native resolution, rather than the enlarged 3500-pixel preview. This preserves the frame and caption carried in the background layer. Native-context crop (124, 446, 743, 1127). Already aligned; no additional rotation. Final lossless trim (0, 0, 619, 681); right and bottom bounds are exclusive. No enlargement beyond source-layer resolution, added canvas, colour or tonal adjustment, sharpening, retouching or reconstruction. The full source PDF remains unchanged.
