Source
Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nürnberg, inventory H4046, Münchener Bilderbogen Nr.465: Der Virtuos. The photographed sheet is marked 18. Auflage. The catalogue dates this impression nach 1871 (after 1871); its separate relationship to an edition dated 1867/1868 must not be substituted for the date of this 18th impression. The exact year and edition of the album clipping remain unresolved.

Rights
The historical graphic by Wilhelm Busch (1832–1908) is in the public domain. This file contains only its faithful flat two-dimensional reproduction. The basis for reuse is the expired historical work and the absence of new authorship in a faithful reproduction, including German UrhG §68 (related rights in reproductions of public-domain visual works), §64 and §69, and US Copyright Office Compendium §313.4(A). This is a specific assessment of this historical graphic and its faithful reproduction, not a statement about all museum photographs or every jurisdiction.
The museum's manifest labels its images CC BY-NC-ND 4.0; that notice and the original photographic credit are retained here. No CC0 grant or institutional approval is claimed, and that licence is not presented as permission to publish adapted protected material. Sections 1.6 and 8(a) of its legal code preserve uses lawfully made independently of the licence. The modern colour scale and credit strip are outside this historical-scene crop; full credit remains above.
The museum's legal notice contains a general copyright/permission notice and expressly states that use of its website creates no contractual relationship. Its photographic-order conditions concern ordered reproductions; no order or separate agreement was made for this publicly offered download. Neither notice is represented as a grant of permission.
