Summary
Description
Illustration on the page headed The Guitar, from Confessions of a Medium, printed p. 95, London: Griffith & Farran; New York: E. P. Dutton & Co., [1882] (date as catalogued by Internet Archive).
Exact match to the illustration within An Imitation of Spiritual Phenomena on H. P. Blavatsky's Scrapbooks, volume 13, page 109, inlay 109.1, item 1. The seated central man, guitar above his face, ring round his neck, upright pencil, two women holding hands, partial fourth profile at left, bell, clothing, wall picture, furniture and individual engraved strokes match. This is one complete framed illustration. The running page heading is used for identification; it is not claimed to be a separate printed picture caption. The author, artist, engraver and identities of the depicted people are not independently established here.
The scrapbook preserves a Psyche journal cutting, printed p. 44, whose article explicitly names Confessions of a Medium (Griffith and Farran). This file is the independently matching book impression; it does not replace the journal cutting or its metadata and does not establish the physical copy used for the scrapbook. No claim of first publication is made. The surrounding book prose and running heading are excluded from this image crop; the complete source page remains available below.
