He was named ''Baal‐Tzephon, ''or god of the crypt (Exodus) and ''Seth'', or the ''pillar ''(''phallus''), because he was the same as Ammon (or Baal‐Hammon) of Egypt, called “the hidden god”. Typhon, called Set, who was a great god in Egypt during the early dynasties, is an aspect of Baal and Ammon as also of Siva, Jehovah and other gods.
