Rishyusringa. Tale of the Mahabharata

In the holy land of India,
In the beauteous land of Anga,
Lived a king of many virtues,
Lived the wise king Lomapada ;
And this king, renowned and honored,
Once upon a time was wrathful,
And he smote a holy Brahmin,
Smote a saintly man of prayers,
Struck him with his kingly hand.
Then away fled all the Brahmins,
Left the beauteous land of Anga,
Left the altars and the temples
In the lands of Lomapada.
And the God of earth and heaven,
Strongest of the gods, God Indra
