File:Pravda n.270-1.png: Difference between revisions

Summary

First (unnumbered) page of Правда (Pravda), Odessa, No. 270, 3 (15) December 1878, with H. P. Blavatsky’s feuilleton “Изъ-за моря изъ-за океана” in the lower part of the page. The heading, opening lines and column transitions match the clippings on HPB-SB-6-107; the article continues on HPB-SB-6-108.

Source: frame 23 of the 25-frame TIFF supplied for this project as “Из-за моря, из-за синего океана.(дополненная).tif”. This TIFF contains pages from several newspaper issues. The holding institution, physical copy and date of digitization have not been documented.

One original newspaper page, extracted as a lossless PNG, 5043 × 7356 pixels. The decoded RGB pixels were verified identical to the source TIFF frame. No cropping, resizing, retouching or OCR was applied to this uploaded image. This is not a complete issue. The scan has uneven illumination, page curvature and some poorly legible print.

The 1878 printing is in the public domain in the United States: U.S. Copyright Office, Circular 22, p. 10. This is a faithful reproduction without visible creative additions; scanning or digitizing a literary work does not create new copyrightable authorship under Compendium, section 313.4(A), pp. 26–27.

The site cannot generate a thumbnail for this full-resolution PNG because it exceeds the image-size limit. A viewable one-page PDF of the same original newspaper page contains the identical RGB pixels without reduction or lossy image compression.
