(13 January 1849 − 2 November 1903)

was a Russian historical novelist. He became a TS member in 1884, but on February 16, 1886, he resigned his membership and became a bitter and disillusioned enemy of Mme. Blavatsky. He wrote a critical examination of HPB's last three years, called A Modern Priestess of Isis.
