Summary
Description
Department of Our Social Relations, matching H. P. Blavatsky's Scrapbooks, volume 9, page 101, item 1. The family group on the left, woman and children on the right, two animal ovals, complete scrollwork frame, lettering and three-line epigraph match. No artist or engraver is securely identified here.
This colour scan is a later repeated impression of the same ornamental heading, from The Phrenological Journal and Life Illustrated, vol. LXIV, February 1877, p. 114 (New York: S. R. Wells & Co.). The physical bound title page reads January to June 1877, and this leaf prints February and folio 114. The general repository date 1870 describes the serial and is not used for this impression.
The album cutting and its adjacent articles A Royal Funeral in Egypt and Martha A. Maxwell match November 1876, vol. LXIII, no. 5, p. 349. That exact page is independently linked below. The unrelated Two Lives prose below the 1877 impression is excluded from the crop and is not attributed to the album. This later quality copy does not establish the physical copy used for the album or its assembly date; album text, notes and metadata are unchanged.
