The feast of Flowers (Floralia): during this festival the rite of Baptism or purification was performed in the Eleusinian Mysteries in the temple lakes, the Limnae, when the Mystæ were made to pass through the “narrow gate” of Dionysus, to emerge therefrom as full Initiates (TG).
