Dadouchos

The torch‐hearer, one of the four celebrants in the Eleusinian mysteries. There were several attached to the temples but they appeared in public only at the Panathenaic Games at Athens, to preside over the so‐called “torch‐race”. (See Mackenzie’s R.M, Cyclopædia.) (TG).
