D. E. de Lara

A learned old gentleman of Portuguese-Hebrew extraction who was present at the meeting of September 8, 1875, when the Theosophical Society was formed. Both H.P.B. and Col. Olcott had great affection for him. He seems to have remained a member till he died, but very little is known about his life and work. (BCW 1:491).
