The personified deity, the Principle of Universal Divine Light of the Parsis. From Ahura or Asura, breath, “spiritual, divine” in the oldest Rig Veda, degraded by the orthodox Brahmans into A ‐sura, “no gods”, just as the Mazdeans have degraded the Hindu Devas (Gods) into Dæva (Devils). (TG).
