Fragments of Occult Truth
Series in The Theosophist: Zirkoff attributes the first three instalments (October 1881, March and September 1882) to A. O. Hume and the later contributions signed “Lay Chela” to A. P. Sinnett; he finds no evidence for attributing them to Blavatsky or Subba Row. (BCW 4:647-648).

(BCW 3:322) (BCW 3:384)

According to B. de Zirkoff, the instalment on Devachan principally paraphrases teachings in Letter XXV of The Mahatma Letters to A. P. Sinnett. (B. de Zirkoff, BCW 4:444)

A. O. Hume wrote the first three Fragments in response to three letters from W. H. Terry to the editor of The Theosophist. (B. de Zirkoff, BCW 5:11)
