Henry Rhodes Morgan

(1822–1909)

British major-general and an early member of the Theosophical Society in India. President of the Todabetta branch at Ootacamund; with his wife Ellen, hosted H. P. Blavatsky and H. S. Olcott and supported them during the Coulomb controversy. During H. P. Blavatsky’s stay with the Morgans in the summer of 1883, she worked on the Replies to an English F.T.S. He attested to the restoration of a broken saucer at Adyar on 13 August 1883. (B. de Zirkoff, BCW 5:xxiv-xxv, BCW 5:129)
