Also: • Isabel de Steiger • Isabelle Lace •

(1836–1927)

English painter, writer and occultist. She joined the Theosophical Society in 1879, was a friend of Anna Kingsford, and also belonged to the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

Author of Memorabilia: Reminiscences of a Woman Artist and Writer, published in London by Rider & Co. with a preface by A. E. Waite. (BCW 6:446).

English painter, writer and Theosophist (1836-1927), associated with the first English theosophical branch and later the Liverpool Lodge. She studied Hermetic teachings with Mary Anne Atwood and translated Eckartshausen’s Cloud upon the Sanctuary. (BCW 7:395-397).

Her name appears among the signatories of the petition for the London Lodge’s Inner Group. B. de Zirkoff points out that this conflicts with her later account in Memorabilia of refusing to join. (B. de Zirkoff, BCW 6:251,256)
