The Zoroastrian name for Ahriman; the evil spirit of destruction and opposition who (in the Vendidâd, Fargard I.) is said by Ahura Mazda to “counter‐create by his witchcraft” every beautiful land the God creates; for “Angra Mainyu is all death” (TG).
