Hermetic Society

Founded in London on 9 May 1884 after the Hermetic Lodge surrendered its Theosophical Society charter on 22 April. Grew out of A. Kingsford and E. Maitland’s group, which favoured Hermetic philosophy and esoteric Christianity; H. P. Blavatsky took part in discussions of its relations with the London Lodge.
