Kumarila Bhatta
(ок. 7 в.)
Indian philosopher and commentator of the Mimamsa school. His Tantra-Varttika comments on Sabaraswamin’s exposition of Jaimini’s Mimamsa-Sutras; Zirkoff describes it as highly learned and strongly opposed to Buddhism. (BCW 5:377).
His name replaces the erroneous “Kulluka Bhatta” in a reference to an interpretation of a myth: B. de Zirkoff cites a correspondent’s correction in The Theosophist. (B. de Zirkoff, BCW 4:366)
