Worked on portraits of the Mahatmas in the summer of 1884; H. P. Blavatsky attended at least one sitting. Began her portrait at Elberfeld on 15 September that year. B. de Zirkoff notes uncertainty over which Mahatma portrait was painted first. (B. de Zirkoff, BCW 6:xxxii-xxxiii,xxxvi)
