Simon Magus

A very great Samaritan Gnostic and Thaumaturgist, called “the great Power of God”. (TG). B. de Zirkoff distinguishes New Testament, patristic and legendary accounts of him. He attaches particular weight to the Philosophumena, which quotes the Great Announcement attributed to Simon and apparently draws on Simonian writings. (B. de Zirkoff, BCW 12:571-573)
