Society for Psychical Research

(1882)

The appendix notes that the first issue of the Society's Proceedings appeared in October 1882. (BCW 4:665).

De Zirkoff lists the Society’s confidential preliminary report on phenomena associated with members of the Theosophical Society (about December 1884) and the December 1885 Proceedings, which included Richard Hodgson’s report on his investigations in India. (BCW 6:445-446).

The bibliography cites volume III, part IX, of its Proceedings, dated December 1885 and published at London by Trübner. (BCW 7:395).

H. P. Blavatsky left a pencil note on the final pages of a copy of the preliminary report on theosophical phenomena. B. de Zirkoff associates it with the crisis of early 1885, when her proposal for legal action was rejected. (B. de Zirkoff, BCW 6:324-326)
