Johann K. F. Zollner
(German: Johann Karl Fridriech Zöllner)

(1 November 1834 − 1 November 1882)

*Wissenschaftliche Abhandlungen. Leipzig, 1878-81. 4 vols. Zirkoff refers readers to BCW Vol. V, pp. 265-67, for biographical and bibliographical data. (BCW 1:538).

De Zirkoff cites Transcendental Physics (London, 1880), referring to volume V, page 385, for its bibliography and pages 265-267 for the author's biography. (BCW 3:539).

The appendix refers to the biographical sketch in volume V. (BCW 4:670).

His experimental investigations were translated into English by Charles C. Massey as Transcendental Physics (London, 1880), with the translator’s preface and appendices; American editions followed in 1881 and 1901. (BCW 5:385).

H. P. Blavatsky reviewed his experiments with H. Slade at length in February 1881. B. de Zirkoff associates this research with Blavatsky and H. S. Olcott’s earlier support for Slade’s journey. (B. de Zirkoff, BCW 5:265-267)

The dates 8 November 1834 – 25 April 1882, also given in Deutsche Biographie, imply an age at death of 47; B. de Zirkoff’s statement “48 years” differs from these dates. (Deutsche Biographie: Zöllner, exact dates)
