This article could be translated by H. P. Blavatsky from Russian Novoe vremya, December 21, 1879 ("Новое время", 21 декабря 1879).  +
This article includes several reports, each having their own author and title.  +
This circular trilingual seal is the official administrative emblem of the Maharani of Cossimbazar, validating documents through colonial, regional, and traditional scripts. The fixed outer rim is engraved with "SHEEMUTTEE MAHARANEE SURNOMOYEE • 19th SEPTEMBER 1872," the permanent date of her official Investiture ("THE COSSIMBAZAR DURBAR," The Homeward Mail from India, China and the East, October 14, 1872, Vol. XVI, No. 823, p. 1290). The internal Bengali field was a dynamic section used for dating specific registrations, which in this case reads সন ১২৮৬ সাল তারিখ ৪ আশ্বিন (September 19, 1879). Notably, this registration occurred exactly on the seventh anniversary of her investiture, sixteen days after the letter was drafted on September 3. Whether a deliberate act of symbolism or a remarkable administrative coincidence, this alignment emphasizes the importance of the document, which was finalized with the invocation শ্রীশ্রীলক্ষ্মীনারায়ণজি সহায় ("With the aid of Sri Sri Lakshmi-Narayanji") and her formal title শ্রীমতী মহারানী স্বর্ণময়ী, asserting her ancestral authority just twelve days before the launch of The Theosophist magazine.  +
This editorial note responds to a hostile account in The Philosophic Inquirer of April 16 and rejects its description of the Arya Samaj as “shattered and torn by factions.” It states that Swami Dayanand remained welcome to discuss the disputed points with the Theosophists.  +

This is a part from original article in Russian, pasted on page 3:101. Most likely it was translated by HPB herself.  +
This is a second physical mounted copy of the same circular catalogued on scrapbook page 135, not a new textual work. Olcott asks the presidents of Hindu branches to answer four allegations in the May issue of The Arya. The exact July 1882 reprint in the Extra Supplement to The Theosophist, p. 10, supplies the editorial title used here.  +
This is an illustration by Albert Letchford for Sir Richard Francis Burton's translation of The Book of the Thousand Nights and a Night, dated circa 1901  +
This is quote from Isis Unveiled, SMW::offvol. 1, ch. 1, p. 5SMW::on.  +
This is the first letter from the series “Letters from America”.  +
This rotated scrapbook fragment preserves only numbered entries 18–24. Scrapbook page 163 preserves the printed heading and entries 1–17 below it, followed separately by entries 25–70, a Partial List of Journals, and ordering instructions. The page-163 evidence restores the identity and extent of the item, but does not establish a publisher, publication date, or author; the handwritten H. P. B. note there is therefore not entered as a printed author signature.  +
This single-column sheet contains the same constitution, principles, by-laws and resolutions reprinted in The People's Friend and mounted across scrapbook pages 131–132, but it omits that newspaper's bracketed editorial introduction. The Hindu Reformer and Politician text mounted on scrapbook page 72 says that the resolutions and by-laws adopted at the Hindu Sabha meeting of March 17 appeared in a separate paper; this is strong contextual evidence for the sheet, but no date or place is printed and it is not designated here as the original edition.  +
